All Souls Day
  • Location: Worldwide
Observed in several Christian denominations, this holiday is a day of prayer and remembrance for the souls of those who have died. It is also known as the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed and the Day of the Dead.

Culture Day
  • Location: Japan
National holiday in Japan to promote culture, the arts and academia. Celebrations include art exhibitions, parades and award ceremonies for artists and scholars.

Diwali
  • Location: India
A festival of lights that is a major festivals celebrated by Hindus as well as other religions in India. Typically lasting five days, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.

Outdoor Expo

Spending time outdoors is fun and easier than you think! Join us for Missouri City's first Outdoor Expo and explore all the exciting activities available in our parks. Activities include archery, fishing, bowfishing, conservation, wildlife education, outdoor cooking, camping, and more. Stick around after the event for the Community Campout in the Park.

World Hello Day

World Hello Day began in response to the conflict between Egypt and Israel in the Fall of 1973 and has been adopted by many countries around the world. As a demonstration of the importance of personal communication for preserving peace, everyone is encouraged to greet ten people to encourage world leaders to use communication rather than force to settle conflicts.

Thanksgiving

A national holiday celebrated to give thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. The tradition is rooted in religious observances and harvest festivals practiced by early European colonists in the Americas.
National Day of Mourning
  • Location: United States of America
A demonstration, held annually on the fourth Thursday in November, to educate the public about Native Americans, dispel misconceptions about Native American history, and raise awareness toward ongoing as well as historical struggles that tribes face.

Hanukkah Begins
  • Location: Worldwide
A Jewish festival, also known as the Festival of Lights, that commemorates the recovery of Jerusalem. Hanukkah is observed for eight nights and days by lighting the candles of a candelabrum, also known as a menorah or hanukkiah, with nine branches.
