The University of Houston continues to solidify its reputation as a national leader in graduate education, with 15 programs placing in the top 50 of U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools” rankings, released today.
Three specialty programs, including two at the UH Law Center, were ranked in the top 10 nationwide: part-time law (No. 5), petroleum engineering (No. 7) and health care law (No. 9).
“Our graduate programs continue to demonstrate exceptional value for our students,” said UH Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Diane Z. Chase. “With 15 programs ranking among the best in the nation, including three in the top 10, the University of Houston remains a choice destination for master’s, doctoral and professional students. I credit the success of these programs to the faculty and staff members leading them, as well as our students who emerge from our institution ready for the workforce.”
Overall, nine UH Law Center specialty programs were ranked in the top 50, including three (part-time law, health care law, legal writing) that were ranked No. 1 in the state of Texas.

In addition, UH had three graduate programs earn “Best Of” recognition from U.S. News this year:
