Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, Salsa y Salud continues to bring a fresh and exciting live salsa music and dance performance to the delight of audiences. World premieres, original choreography, dance theater, visual arts, and more, are all part of this colorful and vibrant show. See you there! A live perform at the Miller Outdoor Theatre that will also be live streamed.

Gandhi Jayanti

A national holiday in India to celebrate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the activist who employed nonviolent resistance to lead the successful campaign for India's independence. The United Nations also celebrates this day as the International Day of Non-Violence.

Flamenco Ole!
  • Time: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Location: Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6000 Hermann Park Dr, Houston, TX 77030
This show educates children about the art and culture of Flamenco. In this performance, the artists will demonstrate the three most important elements of Flamenco: song, guitar, and dance. Students will learn about the origins of Flamenco, its rhythms and how feelings are expressed in this beautiful art.

Senior Series: The Truth About Scams

Every time we think we have it figured out, a new scam appears. Yes, con-artists have been around forever, but with the advent of the internet, cellular phones, and email, they are becoming even more sophisticated. Add this level of sophistication to an aging society and you have a perfect storm. A scam storm. This month’s seminar will certainly cover the most common scams impacting today’s mature adults, but it will go one step further. We will discuss the psychology behind the most effective scams and how you can protect yourself and those you care about from becoming the next victim.

A festival of lights that is a major festivals celebrated by Hindus as well as other religions in India. Typically lasting five days, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.

Calavera con Calavera
  • Time: 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
  • Location: Online
FLAS and Indigo Theater Group present the traditional Day of the Dead play, “Calavera con Calavera” (Skulls); an original piece written by Eddie Gonzalez. It’s Day of the Dead, and the Burgos Family is getting ready to celebrate this important date, a yearly tradition in Hacienda Calvario where they get together to solemnize this festivity. Mystery and secrets ensue as the family brings drama to the table while learning the value of life. A live perform at the Miller Outdoor Theatre that will also be live streamed.
