Bring your lawn chairs as we meet outside The Pointe at Missouri City Branch Library and enjoy tales from North America, Africa, and Asia, through storytelling, books, songs, and rhymes. Each child will receive a take-home craft.

Rhyme & Reason A Virtual Performance

Music, dance and performance poetry presenting Black History from ancient Africa to today. Featuring poetry by Houston Poet Laureate Emeritus, Deborah DEEP Mouton, and members of her slam poetry team. With a special appearance by the world’s first African American prima ballerina, Lauren Anderson (from the Houston Ballet).

Bilingual Story Time: Tiempo de Cuentos!
  • Location: Online
Parent and child activities time for preschool aged children including songs, stories, and finger plays. This program is recommended for children aged 3-6. Stories, songs, and rhymes will be presented in Spanish and in English.

Exhibition: Color over the Border
  • Time: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Location: Czech Center Museum Houston, 4920 San Jacinto St., Houston, TX 77004
Color over the Border showcases the work of Madelline Vicencio, a Houston native and emerging muralist. At the Czech Center Museum, the conservation of Czech history and art is of most importance. Taken by the idea, Madelline Vicencio’s mural celebrates the representation of culture and immigration. Influenced by her own background as a first generation Mexican American, she has always been motivated to empower inclusivity and cultural representation within her art.
Houston's Got Bollywood

Adventures in Motion Pictures is a spectacular canvas, showcasing the imaginative elements of a magical life in Bollywood Movies through its music, languages, art and cultural festivals of India, in true Bollywood dance theatre style.
