University of Houston Launches Dynamic Reputational Campaign Aiming for Top 50 Status

“Can’t Stop Houston. Can’t Stop Us.”

The University of Houston has launched a new, multi-year reputational marketing campaign that builds on the relentless achievements of the institution and its students, student-athletes, faculty and researchers. The campaign captures the University’s unstoppable momentum on its trajectory toward joining the ranks of the top 50 public universities in the nation.

“The University of Houston is charging forward, driven by a commitment to excellence and innovation and, through this campaign, we are inviting our community to come with us on this journey,” said Lisa K. Holdeman, UH vice president for marketing and communications. “Every success story propels us further, driving UH to new heights as we continue to shape the future of higher education.

With a focus on inspiring prospective students and faculty, the campaign not only highlights UH’s remarkable people and collective achievements, the “Can’t Stop Houston” campaign aims to remind current students, alumni and the community that they are part of something larger than themselves.

In recent years, UH has witnessed a surge in accomplishments that bolster its reputation. The University opened Houston’s first medical school in 50 years, positioning itself as a leader in health education and research. The Cougars’ rise to the Big 12 Conference has not only elevated UH’s athletic profile but has also drawn national attention to the university as a whole.

As UH advances its research agenda, it continues to make significant strides in fields such as energy, health and superconductivity. Now trademarked as The Energy University, UH is at the forefront of developing sustainable solutions that will power the grid of the future, solidifying its status as a hub for innovation. As a Tier One research university, UH attracts top talent and fosters a culture of entrepreneurship, further amplifying its impact on the region and world.

“Every step we take forward illustrates our commitment to not just keep pace but to lead in the realm of higher education,” Holdeman added.

This is UH’s first reputational campaign since the highly successful “Powerhouse” initiative launched in 2014. The new “Can’t Stop Houston. Can’t Stop Us” campaign was officially introduced by UH President Renu Khator during her recent State of the University address.
